IT'S NEVER TOO LATE!

It has been a very long time since I wrote anything in this blog. I was not doing much writing and pretty discouraged over getting nothing but rejections for what I was submitting. I have since then started a new blog on Blogger called How to Enjoy Retirement on a Limited Income. It is designed for Senior Citizens and is not just about saving money but having the right mindset, staying healthy and other ways to stay happy.

I am writing more regularly again. Deborah Owen, founder of Creative Writing Institute started a 500 club encouraging writers to write 500 words a day for the month of January. I did all but one day of journal writing and she said we were allowed to skip one.

This month, her challenge is to research writing markets and we will write something to submit to at least one. I have submitted some poetry already to a few markets. I was turned down by the Cricket family again, but I believe one day I will send them something they will accept.

For the past two days, from 11 am to 4 pm, I have been listening to webinars in the Best Sellers Summit, there is another day left but I will not be on that one live because I need to get out after being indoors several days in a row. I will listen to their replay though. It has been very informative and inspirational and the presenters all have online courses and programs which they were promoting of course. I can’t afford to get into the ones that charge in the hundreds of dollars, but would if I could. I sign up for any free ones they give, which are teasers meant to attract you into wanting more. But even the free material gives me something to work on.

I’m in the GenNarrations writing group again too, but I have not written my story yet. I host a writing Meetup group two Saturdays a month, which people have not been coming to very often but I have found that I can write pretty well at the library if no one shows up. On the other Saturdays, I meet with at least one other person. We are working on creating a play from an idea I came up with at the other writing group before it’s original organizer left.

I am also working on a newsletter for our church starting this year, so I have a lot of writing to do and I feel better when I am writing. I plan on keeping myself busy writing this year and I should be able to get something, besides these blog posts, published. I have a renewed confidence and the mindset is what makes all the difference between keeping at it and staying hopeful or giving up in discouragement.
