This morning I had nothing on my schedule, so after doing my journal I read some more of the book about the girl who gets cancer. I’m about half way through now. I also went online to look at emails and I wrote a poem for another writing.com contest. I would have that to share with our poetry group tomorrow, but we have a play rehearsal in the morning which will go through the times of my writing groups, so I will not be able to go to them.
I went downtown for a Tai Chi class in the afternoon, stopped to get something to eat. Then I came back home.
Tonight was Bible study and choir rehearsal. Pastor spoke on a passage in Exodus 38, where the people of God were bringing items to be used to build the tabernacle and they brought so much stuff the workmen went to Moses to tell him they had more than they needed and he told the people to stop bringing the offerings. He brought up the fact that the people were giving offerings over and above their tithes because they were "willing hearted" as it is described in chapter 35, verse 22. If we gave that way he too would be able to tell us to stop bringing offerings and there would be more that enough to do all the Lord asked us to do for Him.
We had a good choir rehearsal. We warmed up with songs we had sung, rather than the vocalizations, and began learning a new song. At the end of choir practice our music director gave us a quiz on things he had been teaching us and he had prizes for those who got the most answers correct. Two of us tied at 100%. He only had one first place prize so he had pastor draw one of the papers to see who would get it. He drew mine. The director is going to get another Pizza Hut gift card, for the gentleman I was tied with, and give it to him next week. There was also a second place prize for someone with only one wrong answer. There were a lot of them, so pastor pulled a paper again.

I did not update my blog yesterday, because when I was about to that night, I found out that my computer was not functioning properly. There are programs I can’t get into, including ones designed to get help. I was up til 4 AM trying everything I could think of to see if I could solve it, but nothing worked.
The worst part is that I don’t know what caused the problem and I believe I may have made matters worse by my efforts. I know there are help desks from the computer company, Microsoft, and the company I had protection for the computer from, which may have expired since it did not prevent, or correct, the errors. I am not sure who I should be calling and even a computer programmer friend of mine could not tell me who to contact. The systems are so complicated and interrelated that what effects one will also effect another.
About my day yesterday, I was mistaken about the time for the play rehearsal. I thought it was earlier and would conflict with the writing groups, but we did not get to use the room until 3 PM. I was there early, so I was able to go to the writing groups. I thought I would just sit in, since I left what I had written at home, but I used the computer at RC and printed them out and had the staff make copies for me. So, two writing groups and play rehearsal took up all of my day.
Today I had an appointment to see if I could qualify for food and/or medical assistance. I will not be able to get the medical assistance, but will be on Medicare soon anyway. I did get a LINK card with a small amount of money per month just because I am a senior. My income was too high to be able to get more.
From there, I went downtown for chorus rehearsal and then after that another play rehearsal. Our directors, both for the chorus and play are still making changes in how they want us to perform, but they are just little nuisances to bring out the meaning of the words more effectively.
I came home and began fooling around with the computer again and had a long phone conversation with a friend, who does most of the talking. I do not like late conversations like that because it is too stimulating to my brain and makes it hard for me to sleep. So, I end up staying up until my body won’t take it any longer.

I am still having computer problems. I thought the condition was over when I found out today that I could get back into hotmail today, but I still can’t access the spaces where my other blog is located. I saw it once this afternoon, but did not try using it then and now I can’t get it to come up, I’m only getting a blank screen. This is so weird and frustrating.
Today I did find out that I was approved for a cell phone service that will eliminate a big bill I now pay to Verizon. That was good news. I will miss some features I now have that I am sure will not be included in the new deal, but I will get over it. The money I will save will make it worth the sacrifice.
Today was the Lord’s day, so of course i went to Sunday school and church. The Sunday school lesson was about God creating man and woman and the roles of each being different. The man is to be the leader and the woman his helper. She is to be under submission to him, but that does not make her inferior, not give him the right to abuse his authority. The relation of a husband and wife in particular is to represent that of God and Jesus. Jesus was fully submissive to God, even though He had all of the attributes of God because He was a part of God.
Pastor’s message was about Jesus telling us to come to Him when we are burdened and "heavy laden" and he will give us rest. We are told to take His yoke upon us because it is easy and light, (because He takes the brunt of the load on Himself). Pastor titled his message "Take a Load Off." Many people responded to his invitation to give our concerns and worries over to Jesus.
The second service today was at 7 PM, rather than 4 PM. This is the first time in the six years they have been in this location that they had an evening service. Pastor wanted to try something different to see if it will attract people from the street We did a lot of singing and the choir sang and we had a good time of testimony sharing before he gave a message. This time he took an Old Testament passage about David taking back what was stolen from the Children of Israel by the Amalekites. He said that Satan is our Amalekite who has stolen our joy and praise and we need to take them back from him. We had a good number of people in attendance and even the children in the church are giving testimonies. It is always good t hear that and see them serving as Junior Ushers and choir members, because they are the future church leaders.
