It’s Never Too Late!

This morning I began by doing my journal, as usual.  I was also thinking about where I was 10 years ago to enter the writing.com contest.  I found very few writings from that year.  I was going through one of my non writing periods then, but looking back a couple of years prior to that I found what I wrote when my mother died in 1997 and I know 2000 was a crucial year in my life.  I do intend to write about it.
I also found some notes about things I was thinking of writing that I haven’t written yet, and some of my concerns about my writing not seeming to be going anywhere.  Sometimes it is not good to look back too much and I find that now, I write mostly positive experiences rather than the negative ones, or at least I am more hopeful about the future.
But, when I remembered that my father died in 1987 at the age of 82, and my mother. (who was 10 years younger) died in 1997 also at the age of 82, I thought that if this patter persists I only have 14 more years left.  I have been praying to make it to at least 100.  At the rate I am going I will not have achieved what I would like in a mere 14 years.  But I don’t know what God wants me to achieve in my life.  It may be nothing like I imagine and that may be all the time He needs to complete His work in me.
I went to my writing groups and shared from this blog again at journal writing and the HAPPY TENTH BIRTHDAY WDC acrostic poem I did for a contest.  After the poetry group, I went to the Improv meeting.  The leader of the group is going to form a real Improv group that would be able to perform at places around the city.  They will start by doing a skit at the Renaissance Court anniversary program.  I was talking to the star of our play about the group and he said that he had done Improv.  I talked him into coming in because we had a break before the play rehearsal was to start again.  I missed an earlier practice for the poetry group.
The gentleman took part in two skits they did,  He did well and had fun and I think he may audition to be in the group when they start forming a cast.  I do not think quickly and have not done any skits yet, but the leader said that the people who join the cast will get actual Improv lessons.  I am sure that I could do it with some more encouragement and instruction.  I told the leader about the cast of "Who’s Line is it Anyway?" having Richard Simmons on and he volunteered to be the props for the skits.  I said I could do that if they wanted to try it.  I’d be better at doing a motion on the spur of the moment than thinking of something to say.
