I was not sure if I really wanted to go downtown this morning to see the movie Date Night which is what was being shown at the senior center. I was thinking that it would be a typical, stupid comedy. I did go though, and actually was rather surprised by it. It was not the best movie I’ve seen, but not the worst either. It was almost plausible and had a nice message too. I take back what I said about it being almost plausible since sometimes "truth is stranger than fiction," it was plausible, but one of those situations that would be hard to believe happened.
We had a nice chorus rehearsal. We are doing a chorus from the opera Nabuko, a madrigal and some fun pieces, like Istanbul Was Constantinople. As I said before, our director likes to mix things up and it makes it enjoyable for us. Many in the group are bigger opera fans than I am and are better at picking up the foreign words, but the pieces he takes are usually not the most difficult and are pretty widely known because of that. They are pieces I would have heard in Walt Disney movies and cartoons when I was a child and in many commercials.
I think I forgot to mention that yesterday I got an email from smories.com that a poem I sent them will be up on their site on October 1 and part of a monthly contest. I am curious to see who will be reading this poem made to remind toddlers of things they are able to do by themselves.
