Today was the Lord’s day and I did not spend time on my journal before going over to church. The pastor did not conduct the New Members class again, so I joined the women’s Sunday school class. The lesson was a good one about the new life God gives us when we accept Jesus.
The sermon Pastor Williams had for us was very uplifting. He titled it "The Fight is Fixed’ and it was a reminder that Jesus has already defeated evil and death, so our victory is assured. He made a statement that I really liked "Our setbacks are a setup for a comeback." Even when it looks and feels as if we are defeated and our enemy has won, we are going "through" trials and testings and will come out of them as champions.
We had a family of a husband, wife and children baptized today, and another boy was baptized. I believe one woman was too, but I did not see that. She was still going through a lot of emotion and we were dismissed before they took her into the back room where they prepare for baptism.
When I came home, I started to journal but, before I got to the Bible verse and devotional section I usually include, I was falling asleep while I wrote. I gave in and took a nap from which I awoke at 5:00 PM. Now, I may be up till that time in the morning.
I ate and typed up some old poems of mine that I found, so they will be ready to be posted on the writing sites I use. There are also a couple of essays I will need to type up and one that I need to rewrite. Raven Chronicles is accepting material for an issue dealing with faith and I want to submit something to them.
I will let you know when I do and keep you informed about their response.
